Snow Child(ren)

Frigid winds whip by branches mocking the silence surrounding this enormous farmhouse. It’s a frozen evening accompanied by heavy snowfall. Harrison reads a book quietly on a worn, stained mattress that’s placed conveniently in the corner out of everyone’s way. Snuggling up with as many blankets he can find, he flips through each page intent…

All My Friends Are Freaks: BTS and Reader Q&A

Within this blog post, I’ll be discussing the creation of the short story series All My Friends Are Freaks. The significance of each of the main characters; Ethan, Twitch, and Annie will be outlined in-depth alongside a drafted map of the behavioral health center with actual photos from inside the facility! Additionally, I’ll be responding to your questions from the All My Friends Are Freaks Q&A

All My Friends Are Freaks: Part Two

Annie spends a day in the quiet room after interfering with Twitch’s treatment plan. After Twitch’s code blue on the children’s unit, Dr. Shaundry speaks with him about his special precaution status. A mysterious new patient is admitted to the children’s unit directly before a power outage creates chaos on all units.

All My Friends Are Freaks

Ethan’s eventful morning on the children’s unit leads to a panic attack during breakfast. After an unplanned shortcut through the middle unit, Ethan has an uncomfortable encounter with one of the patients. Finally finding a bright side, Ethan’s two best friends, Annie and Twitch, join him in the day room hoping to continue the day on a positive note.

Nausea

An unimaginable pain warrants an emergency room visit in rural Texas. Upon arrival, tests are immediately administered catering to the symptoms of appendicitis. As the panels are being analyzed, a computed tomography scan will hopefully shed light on what’s going on inside. Join my hellish night, where the typically routine becomes demonically ritualistic.

The Killing Floor: A Reflection of Unfinished Work

An examination of my first short film, The Killing Floor. From the birth of the idea, pre-production, filming, and its unfortunate downfall. The Killing Floor was just not meant to be, but here’s what I’ve learned and what I take away. Complete with script excerpts and behind the scenes photos!

Letterbox

Joseph convinces his four friends to set out too what they believe to be a film class project. Rumors surrounding the isolated mountain town of Elk River told of an English teacher who spoke about communicating with the dead. The school eventually became abandoned after the sawmill went under and the town’s population plummeted. After a local paper states that the remains of his daughter have recently been found buried outside the school grounds The Sunday Crew decides to check it out for themselves. Upon further investigation of this abandoned school they find his works may not be as fictional as the town believed.

The Quiet Room

An abused foster child is admitted to a behavioral health center…again. Stonewalled by the boy’s silence after a hellish admittance night, the psychologist assigned to his case places him on a strict watch. Unwilling to vocalize his pain, the boy begins to lash out with fits of violence and self-harm. Instead of being placed in another abusive home, he’d rather extend his stay on the children’s psych unit. Follow a morning in his piss stained hospital gown. The forgotten youth are just as broken as the system itself.
