3 Things You May Have Missed in the New Stranger Things Trailer

If you’re a fan of the Netflix Original series Stranger Things, then I’m sure you’ve already seen the trailer for Season 3 that dropped earlier today. And if you’re like me, you can’t stop talking about it! In this blog post, I’ll be breaking down three of my favorite details you may have missed while viewing this cinematic tease that was released this morning, the first day of spring. Stranger Things Season 3 will be released to Netflix on July 4th later this year.

July of 1985

Taking place around six months proceeding the end of season two, Dustin seems to be returning home from some type of science or computer camp, Camp No Where. Sporting the camp logo of a computer screen reading ” ’85 “ on his shirt and hat. Also, the song Dustin plays in the beginning was “Home Sweet Home”, released by the American heavy metal band Motley Crue in, you guessed it, 1985 on their album titled Theatre of Pain.

Growing Up

Throughout the trailer, we see a variety of our favorite cast members, now grown into their teenage years while a remixed version of “Baba O’Riley” by The Who plays in the background. Nancy and Jonathan seem to be working for the local newspaper, The Hawkins Post.

Billy is seen sporting a mean tan and whistle, probably working as a lifeguard at Hawkins pool. Previously released, episode three is titled The Case of the Missing Lifeguard. When I first saw Billy as a lifeguard in this trailer, I was hoping he got what was coming to him. However, the other lifeguard that passes him on the pool deck is seen later in some type of danger.

Blue and Yellow

In a quick glimpse, there’s a shot of Eleven wearing a black and yellow shirt by the ocean, or the deep blue sea. The sky appears dark with the small peak of red light similar to the storms we saw in the previous seasons. In a teaser that was released earlier this year, the statement “WHEN BLUE AND YELLOW MEET IN THE WEST” was highlighted on some sort of coded screen. Also, the hour hand on the clock in the Starcourt Mall is blue, while the minute hand is yellow. The final episode of season three is titled The Battle of Starcourt. These colors seem to be something to look for in the upcoming season of Stranger Things.
